Job Description

As a Railroad Conductor and Yardmaster, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining freight trains, ensuring that goods are transported safely and efficiently across South Africa. Your attention to detail and ability to work under pressure will be key in this role.

Responsibilities

• Supervise train loading and unloading activities.
• Ensure the safety of train operations through regular inspections.
• Direct the train crew during operations for optimal efficiency.
• Manage train schedules and coordinate with other transportation networks.
• Conduct safety drills and training for crew members.
• Evaluate operational performance and make recommendations for improvement.
• Maintain records of train operations and incidents.
• Report any safety concerns to management immediately.
• Assist with administrative duties as required.

Requirements

Education

• Matric or equivalent

Experience

• Previous experience as a train driver or in the transportation industry is preferred.
