SOC Analyst

Job Description

We are looking for a proactive SOC Analyst to enhance our cybersecurity defenses. Your role will encompass continuous monitoring, threat analysis, and collaboration with our IT team to strengthen our security infrastructure in Durban.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze logs from various security devices.
• Coordinate with law enforcement during security investigations.
• Assist in the development of incident response plans.
• Review access logs and maintain secure configurations.
• Implement and track security policies and standards.
• Identify and mitigate security weaknesses in processes.
• Build and manage relationships with other teams and departments.
• Support security incident response activities and post-incident reviews.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
• Master's in Cybersecurity is an advantage

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity analysis or a similar role

Technical Skills

• Threat Hunting
• Firewalls and VPNs

Soft Skills

• Team Collaboration
• Problem-Solving

Certifications

• CompTIA Security+
• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of Threat Intelligence Tools: Experience using threat intelligence platforms to analyze data.
• Scripting Skills: Ability to script for automation of security tasks using Python or Bash.
