We are searching for a Research Scientist to join our dynamic team in Durban. The successful candidate will be tasked with developing innovative research methodologies, conducting experiments, and analyzing data in a collaborative environment aimed at advancing scientific knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead experimental design and data interpretation in research projects.
• Contribute to the development of new research instruments.
• Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders on research initiatives.
• Communicate research outcomes to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
• Manage project timelines and milestones to ensure effective workflow.
• Support the training of new staff in laboratory techniques and protocols.

Requirements

Education

• Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline
• Postdoctoral research experience is an advantage

Experience

• 3-5 years of relevant research experience

• Statistical analysis

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Beginner

• Expertise in molecular biology techniques: Hands-on experience with PCR, gel electrophoresis, and cloning.
