Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable Tax Specialist to join our Durban office. You will play a pivotal role in providing tax consulting services, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of South African taxation and a passion for helping clients manage their tax obligations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide thorough tax advisory services to clients across various industries.
• Prepare and review individual and corporate tax returns.
• Meet with clients to discuss their tax situations and offer sound advice.
• Analyze financial records to determine compliance with tax obligations.
• Support clients in audits and negotiations with tax authorities.
• Facilitate training workshops on tax topics for clients and company staff.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline
• Honours degree in Taxation is beneficial

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a tax role with advisory experience preferred

Technical Skills

• Tax Law
• Regulatory Compliance

Soft Skills

• Negotiation Skills
• Client Management

Certifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA) is highly desirable
• Registered Tax Practitioner (RTP)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience in transfer pricing: Understanding of transfer pricing regulations and methodologies.
• Familiarity with IFRS standards: Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards as they relate to taxation.
