Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant in Johannesburg to oversee financial transactions and ensure compliance with laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to produce accurate financial reports in a timely manner. You'll play a crucial role in maintaining our financial health by managing budgets, preparing tax returns, and reconciling accounts.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of financial documentation.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct variance analysis and report discrepancies.
• Provide data analysis for performance improvement.
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit queries.
• Develop financial reports for management review.
• Assist in training of interns and junior staff.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Honours degree in Accounting is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in accounting or auditing roles

Technical Skills

• Budgeting and Forecasting
• ERP Systems

Certifications

• CIMA qualified or CPA
• Certified Internal Auditor

Languages

• English: Fluent
