Job Description

We're seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Cape Town. In this role, you'll evaluate insurance applications, analyze risk factors, and provide insurance solutions that meet client needs. Your experience in the insurance domain will be pivotal in ensuring client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret financial data related to insurance policies.
• Negotiate terms with brokers and clients as needed.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior underwriters.
• Monitor renewal processes and initiate necessary adjustments.
• Perform audits of underwriting files for quality assurance.
• Evaluate loss history and adjust portfolios accordingly.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or related field
• Master's degree in Finance or Insurance is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry

• Data Analysis

Certifications

• Insurance Institute Certification
• CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) preferred
