Road Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Road Design Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in road design and engineering principles, contributing effectively to the planning and execution of various infrastructure projects. You'll be involved in the entire lifecycle of road design, from initial planning through to project completion.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design process for various road construction projects.
• Develop project proposals and manage client relationships.
• Conduct traffic impact assessments and analyze data.
• Create and maintain relationships with regulators and local authorities.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase.
• Ensure that all designs are sustainable and environmentally responsible.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs.
• Conduct quality assurance checks on engineering deliverables.
• Prepare and present project findings to stakeholders.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years in road and transportation engineering

Technical Skills

• Road Design Software
• Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

• Negotiation

Certifications

• Registered Engineer with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)
• Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)
