Job Description

As a Structural Engineer in Johannesburg, you will play a vital role in our engineering team. You will be responsible for developing structural designs, conducting analyses, and providing valuable insights to enhance project delivery. The role offers a variety of projects with challenges that require innovative approaches and strong technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for structural components and systems in construction projects.
• Review and validate engineering designs, ensuring they meet the applicable codes and standards.
• Coordinate with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) teams for accurate integration.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns, fostering an environment of learning and development.
• Contribute to project proposals with support from estimators and management teams.
• Analyze potential failure cases and formulate design solutions that enhance safety.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in structural design

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Concrete Design

Soft Skills

• Analytical Skills
• Team Leadership

Certifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) License
• LEED Accreditation

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in SAP2000 and AutoCAD: Expertise in using SAP2000 and AutoCAD to facilitate design and analysis.
• Knowledge of sustainable materials: Experience in selecting and applying sustainable materials in designs.
