Job Description

We are seeking a Retail Buyer to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in selecting and purchasing products that meet customer demands. This position requires a sharp eye for market trends and the ability to negotiate with suppliers effectively.

Responsibilities

• Research and propose new product lines based on market analysis.
• Evaluate supplier performance and address issues as they arise.
• Assist with the implementation of seasonal buying strategies.
• Facilitate team meetings to discuss purchasing priorities and updates.
• Prepare sales forecasts based on product performance data.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality.
• Utilize inventory management software to track stock levels.
• Engage with customers for feedback on products to inform buying decisions.
• Support the marketing team in creating promotional materials for new products.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in retail buying, preferably in a similar sector

Languages

• English: Fluent
