We are seeking a passionate Broadcast Journalist to join our Durban team. The right candidate will excel in storytelling, possess strong communication skills, and have the ability to work under tight deadlines. You will cover local news, conduct interviews, and engage with the community.

Responsibilities

• Create compelling news packages for broadcast.
• Engage with audiences through social media.
• Monitor news feeds and develop original story ideas.
• Provide commentary and analysis on current events.
• Participate in editorial meetings to discuss upcoming stories.
• Prepare scripts and present news reports on air.
• Develop relationships with community leaders and stakeholders.
• Field production experience, including shooting and editing video.
• Ensure compliance with broadcasting regulations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism or Communication

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in Broadcast Journalism

• Camera Operation

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational

Advantageous

• Familiarity with broadcasting standards and ethics: Understanding of media regulations and guidelines.
• Previous experience as an On-Air Reporter or Anchor: Experience in presenting news on air in a professional capacity.
