DevOps Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our Cape Town-based team. In this role, you will be responsible for automating and streamlining our operations and processes, building and maintaining tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cloud services, CI/CD processes, and will be comfortable working with a variety of tools and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multiple teams to ensure effective DevOps practices.
• Develop scripts to automate routine tasks.
• Monitor cloud infrastructure and ensure performance and reliability.
• Participate in on-call rotations and troubleshoot system-wide issues.
• Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies that facilitate automation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the infrastructure.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in system administration and DevOps practices

Technical Skills

• Kubernetes
• CI/CD Tools

Certifications

• AWS Certified Developer
• Docker Certified Associate

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of Agile methodologies: Experience working in Agile development environments.
