Interior Designer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Interior Designer to join our Durban team. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to understand their needs and translate their vision into stunning interior spaces. You will be responsible for creating design concepts, selecting materials, and managing projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities

• Balance aesthetics and functionality in all designs.
• Oversee all phases of design projects from concept to completion.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Ensure all designs comply with local regulations.
• Manage a team of junior designers and interns as needed.
• Provide creative input during team brainstorming sessions.
• Utilize design software for presentations and planning.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture
• Certification in sustainable design is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in residential or commercial design

Technical Skills

• SketchUp
• Design Theory

Soft Skills

• Time Management
• Customer Service

Certifications

• Green Building Certification
• Certified Interior Decorator

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Local Building Codes: Knowledge of regulations affecting design in Durban.
• Experience with Commercial Projects: Background in designing office or retail spaces.
