Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Insurance Underwriter to join our dynamic team in Durban. In this role, you will assess insurance applications and determine the terms of coverage. Successful candidates will possess strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail to accurately evaluate risk.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed evaluations of risk exposure for new policies.
• Review and assess existing policies for renewal terms.
• Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure underwriting practices meet regulations.
• Analyze client information and loss history to determine risk.
• Provide recommendations for policy improvements and enhancements.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
• Assist clients with inquiries related to underwriting decisions.
• Participate in underwriting audits and reviews.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or a related field
• Advanced certifications such as AAI or AU are considered a plus

Experience

• 4-6 years of experience in underwriting for insurance companies
