Job Description
As an Insurance Underwriter, you will evaluate insurance applications and determine the risk associated with insuring clients. Utilize your analytical skills to review insureds' information and make informed decisions on policy issuance. Your role is pivotal in protecting the company while ensuring that our clients receive fair coverage.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough risk assessments for new insurance applications.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless client service.
- Draft reports and present findings to senior management.
- Evaluate the adequacy of information provided by applicants.
- Develop risk management strategies to mitigate exposure.
- Engage in continuous professional development and training.
- Assist in the review of claims to validate coverage.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
- Relevant experience may substitute degree requirement
Experience
- 4+ years in underwriting with a focus on commercial lines

- Fellow of the Insurance Institute (FII)
