Job Description

Join us as an Insurance Underwriter in our Cape Town office. You will evaluate new insurance applications, calculate premiums, and develop underwriting guidelines. Your analytical skills will be pivotal in identifying acceptable risks and approving coverage that meets our standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk assessments for new insurance applications.
  • Negotiate coverage terms with agents and clients.
  • Identify potential areas for risk mitigation.
  • Review and update underwriting guidelines as needed.
  • Handle complex cases that require advanced underwriting knowledge.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.
  • Participate in client meetings to discuss coverage and underwriting matters.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field
  • Professional underwriting qualifications are highly regarded
Experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in insurance underwriting
