Tax Consultant

Job Description

We seek a qualified Tax Consultant to join our team in Durban. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance on tax compliance, assist clients in navigating tax legislation, and develop strategic tax plans. Responsibilities

• Review and file tax returns in a timely manner.
• Advise clients on tax deductions and credits available.
• Stay updated on changes in tax legislation.
• Assist in the development of internal policies and procedures related to taxation.
• Conduct training sessions for junior staff on tax regulations.
• Provide timely responses to client inquiries about tax-related issues.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce or related field
• Master's degree in Taxation is an advantage

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in a similar tax role

Technical Skills

• Tax Legislation Knowledge
• Financial Analysis

Soft Skills

• Client Service Orientation
• Negotiation Skills

Certifications

• Registered Tax Practitioner
• Accredited Tax Advisor

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of VAT and PAYE systems: Understanding of Value Added Tax (VAT) regulations and Payroll deductions.
• Experience in forensic accounting: Background in fraud investigation and risk assessment in taxation.
