Public Health Officer

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Public Health Officer to join our Pretoria office. In this role, you will assess public health needs, develop initiatives, and collaborate with healthcare providers to improve the overall health of the community.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage public health initiatives.
• Conduct epidemiological studies to inform health interventions.
• Liaise with community organizations to promote health education.
• Prepare and present health reports to community leaders.
• Evaluate the performance of health initiatives and suggest improvements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to address public health challenges.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health or Social Sciences
• Master's degree in Public Health is preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of experience working in public health

• Epidemiology

Certifications

• Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES)
• Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans: Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Afrikaans.
