Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating insurance applications, assessing risk, and determining coverage limits and premiums. You will work closely with clients and agents to ensure that insurance policies are tailored to meet individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate insurance applications and assess risk levels.
• Determine appropriate coverage limits and premiums.
• Collaborate with agents and clients to clarify information.
• Review underwriting guidelines and ensure compliance.
• Prepare formal underwriting decisions and documentation.
• Monitor and manage existing policies and renewal processes.
• Analyze trends and data to improve underwriting activities.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field
• Specialization in Insurance or Risk Management preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 4 years' experience in underwriting, especially in the commercial sector

Certifications

• Insurance Institute of South Africa Certifications
• Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU)
