Inclusive Education Coordinator

Job Description

As an Inclusive Education Coordinator, you will be responsible for implementing inclusive education practices across our institutions. You will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and local communities to support learners with special needs, ensuring their full participation in the educational process.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Coordinate with educational psychologists to assess student eligibility for services.
• Create and deliver training sessions for staff on effective inclusion techniques.
• Collect and analyze data to inform program improvements.
• Support teachers in creating an inclusive classroom climate.
• Assist in the identification of additional resources and support services for students.
• Promote a positive attitude towards diversity and disability throughout the school community.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Psychology, or relevant field
• Master's degree in Education or related field is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years experience in inclusive education or special needs coordination

Technical Skills

• Experience with assistive technologies
• Crisis intervention strategies

Soft Skills

• Leadership

Certifications

• Assistive Technology Specialist Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Conversational
