Personal Care Aide

Job Description

The Personal Care Aide will provide critical physical and emotional support to visually impaired individuals, assisting them in leading independent and fulfilling lives. This role requires compassion, dedication, and a strong understanding of the needs of those with visual impairments.

Responsibilities

• Support clients with daily tasks including budgeting, planning, and social engagements.
• Aid in mobility through unfamiliar environments and support their independence.
• Ensure a safe environment through regular checks of the living space.
• Create engaging activities that cater to the clients' interests and needs.
• Document services provided and report any changes in client conditions.
• Help clients learn to use assistive technology.

Requirements

Education

• Relevant qualification in healthcare or social services is preferred
• Training in visual impairment or disability support is an asset

Experience

• Prior experience in caregiving roles is an advantage.
