Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Dance Critic to evaluate and critique performances across various dance genres. The selected candidate will provide insightful reviews that highlight the artistry and cultural significance of each production.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and critique the performances of various dance companies.
  • Write engaging and informative reviews that capture the essence of each production.
  • Collaborate with the editorial team to ensure content aligns with publication standards.
  • Attend rehearsals and workshops when possible to gain a deeper understanding of the art form.
  • Participate in industry events and networking opportunities to enhance the publication's visibility.
  • Monitor audience responses and feedback to adapt critique styles as necessary.
  • Contribute to broader arts discussions through panel participation and public speaking.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Dance, Journalism, or related field
  • Master's degree is advantageous
Experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in dance criticism, arts journalism, or a related field.
