Furnace Caretaker

Job Description

The Furnace Caretaker is pivotal in our operations, responsible for maintaining and repairing industrial furnaces utilized throughout our manufacturing processes. You will ensure that our furnaces operate safely, efficiently, and effectively, thereby playing a crucial role in our overall production output.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of furnaces, ensuring they are properly maintained.
• Conduct regular performance assessments and adjustments.
• Collaborate with production staff to optimize furnace utilization.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
• Assist in the development of operational procedures and best practices.
• Document maintenance schedules and reporting.
• Participate in ongoing training and meetings.
• Respond promptly to furnace breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Support the maintenance team with various tasks as needed.
• Monitor inventory of spare parts for efficient operations.

Requirements

Education

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Qualified Artisan (Millwright or Electrician) preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years' experience handling industrial furnaces
