Cybersecurity Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to bolster our security team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will implement security measures to protect our digital infrastructures and sensitive data.

Responsibilities

• Investigate security breaches and provide detailed reports.
• Collaborate with law enforcement on matters relating to cybersecurity.
• Conduct security training for new staff and ongoing training for existing staff.
• Implement firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
• Review and update security policies and procedures regularly.
• Monitor networks for security breaches and respond swiftly.
• Assist with compliance and regulatory audits as required.
• Communicate with stakeholders regarding security measures and incidents.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field
• Master's degree is a plus

Experience

• 4+ years of direct experience in information security

• Firewall Management

Certifications

• CompTIA Security+
• ISO 27001 Lead Auditor

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with SIEM tools: Hands-on knowledge of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash): Ability to automate tasks and enhance security measures using scripting.
