Insurance Underwriter

Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to manage insurance applications and assess risk in our Durban office. You'll collaborate with a dedicated team, using your expertise to ensure that all policies meet our standards, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Assess risk exposure and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines.
• Work with teams to improve underwriting processes and client services.
• Create reports on underwriting activities and present findings to management.
• Participate in strategy meetings to discuss market developments.
• Conduct customer interviews to collect additional information.
• Advise on risk mitigation strategies for clients.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Risk Management or related field
• Postgraduate qualifications in Insurance preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of underwriting experience preferred

Certifications

• Fellowship of the Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII)

• English: Fluent
