Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Tax Consultant to join our Cape Town office. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting clients with their tax-related needs, ensuring compliance with legislation, and representing clients during audits. Your expertise will help clients navigate the complexities of tax regulations while optimizing their tax position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax returns for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Advise clients on effective tax strategies to optimize their tax positions.
• Conduct audits and follow up on existing cases with tax authorities.
• Keep current with ever-changing tax laws and their implications.
• Manage client portfolios, maintaining regular communication and updates.
• Perform detailed tax research to support client needs.
• Assist clients in tax planning to minimize future liabilities.
• Educate clients on tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Participate in client meetings and provide tailored tax solutions.
• Draft and present reports on tax liabilities and strategies to clients.

Requirements

Education

• Hon's degree in Taxation or related field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in taxation or finance

Technical Skills

• Regulatory Knowledge
• Auditing Experience

• Client Relationship Management
• Problem Resolution

Certifications

• Professional Tax Consultant Certification
• Certified Accountant (CA) - advantageous

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Conversational

• Experience with international taxation: Knowledge and experience in handling international tax issues.
• Proficiency in Excel and advanced data analytics: Expertise in using Excel for data analysis and reporting.
