Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Tax Consultant to join our Cape Town office. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting clients with their tax-related needs, ensuring compliance with legislation, and representing clients during audits. Your expertise will help clients navigate the complexities of tax regulations while optimizing their tax position.

Responsibilities

• Review and file client tax returns, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
• Consult with clients on tax-related issues and help them navigate complex tax scenarios.
• Prepare reports suitable for client presentation and tax audits.
• Assist in the implementation of tax projects and special tax advisory services.
• Develop new tax solutions to meet client needs.
• Document all client interactions to ensure thorough follow-up.
• Work collaboratively with legal and accounting teams to provide comprehensive advice.
• Engage in continuous professional development to maintain up-to-date knowledge.
• Support the training of junior staff in tax processes and regulations.
• Enhance client knowledge through workshops and seminars.

Requirements

Education

• Hon's degree in Taxation or related field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in taxation or finance

Technical Skills

• Regulatory Knowledge
• Auditing Experience

Certifications

• Professional Tax Consultant Certification
• Certified Accountant (CA) - advantageous

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Conversational

Advantageous

• Familiarity with tax compliance software: Experience in working with various tax compliance software programs.
• Experience with IFRS reporting: Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards.
