Exchange Teller

Job Description

As an Exchange Teller, you will be responsible for facilitating currency exchange transactions for our clients. This role requires accurate cash handling, an eye for detail, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. Ideal candidates will possess strong mathematical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Exchange foreign currency accurately and efficiently.
• Assist clients in understanding exchange processes and current rates.
• Complete daily reconciliations of cash transactions.
• Maintain confidentiality and security compliance in all transactions.
• Support the branch in achieving performance and sales targets.
• Contribute to a positive work environment by collaborating with the team.
• Report suspicious transactions to the management.
• Stay informed about currency market trends.
• Participate in training sessions for continuous professional development.
• Assist clients with inquiries relating to foreign exchange products.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate or equivalent qualification
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Banking, or equivalent preferred

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in a banking or financial institution preferred

Technical Skills

• Cash handling equipment expertise
• Understanding of foreign exchange markets

Soft Skills

• Customer service orientation
• Sales and upselling skills

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Additional South African official language preferred: Intermediate

Advantageous

• Understanding of international money transfer regulations: Knowledge of the compliance requirements for money transfers.
• Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software: Familiarity with tools used to manage client relationships and sales tracking.
