Environmental Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for an Environmental Engineer based in Durban who is enthusiastic about developing solutions for environmental challenges. You will be responsible for conducting site assessments, designing environmental management systems, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Implement strategies to reduce carbon footprint and improve energy efficiency.
• Conduct feasibility studies for environmental remediation projects.
• Perform risk assessments related to environmental hazards.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines on integrated projects.
• Review and ensure compliance of project documents with environmental regulations.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to junior engineers and interns.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related discipline
• Master's degree is advantageous

Experience

• At least 3 years of relevant environmental engineering experience

• ISO 14001 Lead Auditor
