Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Veterinary Surgeon to join our vibrant team in Durban. As a critical member of our practice, you will provide exceptional veterinary care and surgical services for a range of animals. The ideal candidate should possess a strong clinical background and a commitment to animal welfare.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose animal health problems based on clinical examinations.
• Perform surgeries as required, ensuring patient safety and care.
• Educate clients on pet health issues, preventative care and nutrition.
• Maintain accurate health records and manage inventory of supplies.
• Conduct follow-up consultations to monitor recovery progress.
• Work collaboratively with support staff and other veterinarians.
• Stay updated with veterinary advancements and treatments.
• Participate in local animal welfare initiatives.
• Assist in training veterinary staff and interns.
• Provide after-hours emergency care as necessary.

Requirements

Education

• Veterinary degree from an accredited university
• Postgraduate qualifications in veterinary medicine are an advantage.

Experience

• At least 3 years of experience in clinical veterinary practice.
