Job Description

A space physicist is needed to conduct comprehensive research into the Earth's ionosphere and magnetosphere. The role involves analysing satellite data and ground-based measurements to enhance our understanding of space weather phenomena and their impact on technology.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse satellite and observational data to understand ionospheric and magnetospheric behaviour.
  • Create models to simulate space weather effects and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to conduct comprehensive space weather studies.
  • Publish research findings in reputed journals and contribute to scientific knowledge.
  • Lead workshops and training sessions for staff and students.
  • Conduct experiments and provide guidance on the use of scientific instruments.
  • Collaborate with international space agencies on joint research projects.
  • Participate in grant writing and funding applications for research projects.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and direction of the space physics department.
  • Represent the research institution at national and international conferences.

Requirements

Education
  • PhD in Space Physics or related field
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in space physics research
