DevOps Engineer

Job Description

We are searching for a talented DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in cloud computing technologies and responsible for automating our development processes, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning of our software infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Automate monitoring and alerting for critical systems.
• Provide support for system incidents and identify root causes.
• Work with teams on agile methodologies to improve processes.
• Enhance existing applications with cloud capabilities.
• Conduct training sessions for staff on tools and technologies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's in Information Technology or Computer Engineering

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in DevOps roles

Technical Skills

• Python or Bash scripting
• Monitoring Tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana)

Soft Skills

• Adaptability
• Time management

Certifications

• Google Professional Cloud Architect

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies: Experience working in Agile teams and using Agile project management tools.
• Knowledge of network protocols and web services: Understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, and RESTful web services.
