Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to assess risks and determine coverage terms for our clients in Bloemfontein. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of underwriting principles and a knack for evaluating complex information.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough risk assessments for each insurance application.
• Make informed decisions regarding policy approvals.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and regulations.
• Assist in developing underwriting policies and procedures.
• Foster strong relationships with agents and clients for effective communication.
• Collaborate with other departments to enhance workflow.
• Participate in training and development programs to improve underwriting skills.
• Review and update underwriting guidelines as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Economics or related field
• Master's degree or related certification is preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in insurance underwriting
