Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic Public Health Officer to join our team in Johannesburg. This role involves developing and implementing public health programs aimed at addressing community health challenges and improving overall health standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for public health, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with community organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and evaluate public health programs targeting at-risk populations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design interventions for public health challenges.
  • Ensure effective communication of health policies and initiatives to the community.
  • Implement strategies to monitor and combat public health crises.
  • Provide technical assistance to community programs on health-related matters.
  • Develop databases to track public health metrics and outcomes.
  • Conduct site inspections and assessments of health programs.
  • Oversee the work of public health interns and volunteers.
  • Engage with policymakers to promote strategic health initiatives.
  • Prepare educational presentations and workshops for community stakeholders.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences or a related field
  • Postgraduate qualification in Public Health preferred
Experience
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in community health
