Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Structural Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, and management of structural projects. You will work closely with architects and clients to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, applying your expertise in structural analysis and design to deliver innovative solutions that meet all safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct engineering calculations for structural designs.
• Prepare proposals and reports for clients.
• Liaise with municipal bodies for building permits.
• Evaluate material properties and structural analysis software.
• Advise on sustainable design practices and innovations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Master's degree is advantageous

Experience

• 5 years of experience in structural engineering or related field

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• SAP2000
• Revit

Soft Skills

• Project Management
• Communication

Certifications

• Professional Engineer (PrEng)
• Associate (SACPCMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of seismic design principles: Understanding of seismic code requirements and their application.
• Experience with green building certifications: Knowledge of sustainable construction practices and certifications like Green Star.
