Job Description

We are currently seeking a Chemical Engineer to join our innovative team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing processes for producing chemical products, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize chemical processes for production.
• Conduct experiments and analyze data to support process enhancements.
• Collaborate with other engineers and scientists to develop new product formulations.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.
• Provide technical support to production teams.
• Maintain documentation for processes and experiments.
• Identify and solve technical problems during production.
• Assist in the scale-up of processes from lab to production.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and quality control.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
• Relevant certifications in process engineering

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in chemical process development

Technical Skills

• Chemical Engineering Software
• Quality Control

Certifications

• Six Sigma Green Belt
• HSE Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with CAD software for process design: Familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD or similar.
