Job Description

As a Public Health Specialist, you will conduct research, analyze health data, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop effective public health strategies. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the health and wellbeing of Cape Town's residents.

Responsibilities

  • Create comprehensive public health assessments and reports.
  • Supervise staff and volunteers engaged in public health projects.
  • Work with local health authorities on emergency preparedness plans.
  • Build partnerships with educational institutions to promote health research.
  • Manage funding proposals and budgets for public health programs.
  • Explore innovative approaches to community health challenges.
  • Track and report on the progress of health initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the public health department.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Education or related field
  • Master's degree in Public Health, Health Promotion or related field preferred
Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in community health programs
