Job Description

As an Insurance Underwriter at Insurance Solutions Ltd., you'll have the opportunity to assess risks and evaluate applications for insurance. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and be well-versed in underwriting principles. You'll work closely with clients to ensure they receive the coverage they need while maintaining the company's profitability.

Responsibilities

• Review and underwrite complex insurance applications.
• Consult with risk managers to assess potential claims risks.
• Negotiate terms and premiums with brokers and clients.
• Implement underwriting policies and procedures to improve workflow.
• Monitor and report on the underwriting portfolio's performance.
• Assist in developing training materials for new underwriters.
• Provide expertise on specific coverage lines to support sales efforts.
• Conduct audits of underwriting files for quality assurance.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement in underwriting practices.
• Serve as an ambassador for the underwriting team within the organization.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field
• Advanced certifications in underwriting are preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in insurance underwriting

Certifications

• Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU)
