Job Description

As a Registered Nurse, you will be integral to our surgical team as a Circulating Nurse. Your role will involve coordinating activities in the operating theatre, ensuring that all necessary equipment is prepared and maintaining a sterile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the surgical setup and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Assist in the implementation of the surgical care plan.
  • Ensure that all instruments are sterilized before the procedure.
  • Monitor patient conditions and report any changes to the surgical team.
  • Document all relevant surgical information in patient files.
  • Communicate effectively with the surgical team for seamless operations.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Assist with quality improvement initiatives within the surgical unit.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment in the operating room.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of surgical outcomes and patient safety.

Requirements

Education
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Africa
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in perioperative or surgical nursing.
