Biological Technician

Job Description

As a Biological Technician, you will be pivotal in conducting laboratory tests and research for medical and scientific purposes. You will handle complex equipment, maintain inventory, and prepare samples for testing, contributing to vital research projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct various laboratory tests and analyses on biological samples.
• Ensure all laboratory equipment is well-maintained and operational.
• Collect and prepare samples for clinical testing and research.
• Document and report testing results as per regulatory standards.
• Participate actively in team meetings to discuss findings and suggest improvements.
• Assist in training new laboratory staff on procedures and protocols.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations throughout all laboratory operations.
• Evaluate and interpret data from laboratory tests and experiments.
• Support the development of new methodologies for laboratory testing.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety standards and lab technologies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related field
• Postgraduate qualification is advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years of laboratory experience, preferably in medical or research environments

• ISO 17025 Quality Management Certification

• Trained in Laboratory Safety Protocols: Completion of training in laboratory safety and emergency procedures.
