Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Technician in Port Elizabeth to join our team at Veterinary Care SA. In this role, you will assist veterinarians in providing exceptional medical care to animals. Your expertise in handling and caring for a variety of patients will be invaluable as you perform diagnostic tests, administer medications, and assist in surgeries. You'll be a vital part of our mission to deliver high-quality veterinary services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients.
  • Assist in training new veterinary staff and interns.
  • Manage and coordinate vaccination clinics.
  • Perform dental cleanings and assist in dental procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Support the practice through community outreach and education.
  • Foster a positive environment for both pets and their owners.
  • Participate in professional development activities.
  • Engage with animal welfare organizations for endorsing good practices.
  • Document treatment plans and progress notes accurately.

Requirements

Education
  • Diploma or degree in Veterinary Technology
  • Experience in emergency care is preferred
Experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in a veterinary clinic
