Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Microbiologist to join our innovative team in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting microbiological research and testing, contributing to vital public health initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Analyze samples for microbial content and report findings.
• Conduct research to advance the field of microbiology.
• Maintain lab equipment and ensure it is operational.
• Assist in the training of interns and new staff.
• Evaluate new technologies and methods for laboratory applications.
• Work with quality assurance teams to maintain high standards.
• Supervise laboratory staff during testing processes.
• Conduct literature reviews to support ongoing research and testing.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or related field
• Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in a laboratory setting
