Structural Engineer

Job Description

We're looking for a Structural Engineer with exceptional problem-solving skills and a passion for innovative design. In this role, you will play a key part in various projects, from initial concept through to completion, contributing to the safety and functionality of structures across Cape Town.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design efforts on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive project solutions.
• Perform site visits and inspections to collect data for analysis.
• Draft and review project documentation, including reports and proposals.
• Be proactive in identifying issues and proposing solutions.
• Conduct post-project reviews to assess project success and areas for improvements.
• Engage in professional development and stay current on industry trends.
• Assist with the administration of project budgets and schedules.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent
• Master's degree is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant structural engineering experience

Technical Skills

• Revit
• STAAD.Pro

Soft Skills

• Effective communication
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Chartered Engineer status (if applicable)
• ISO 9001 Certification in Quality Management

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with green building practices: Knowledge of sustainable materials and construction methods.
• Proficiency in BIM tools: Hands-on experience with Building Information Modeling software.
