Job Description

As a Sawyer, you will operate sawing machines to cut timber according to specified dimensions. Your work is vital in ensuring quality and efficiency in timber processing, while adhering to safety standards. The ideal candidate should possess a keen eye for detail and the ability to perform routine maintenance on machinery.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate various sawing equipment.
• Conduct quality checks on prepared timber products.
• Maintain accurate records of production output.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production deadlines.
• Troubleshoot minor technical issues with the machinery.
• Participate in safety training and adhere to company policies.
• Maintain logs of maintenance and repairs performed on equipment.

Requirements

Education

• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
• Technical qualification in Woodworking is advantageous

Experience

• 1-3 years of experience in sawmill or woodworking

Technical Skills

• CNC machines operation
• Technical drawing interpretation

Soft Skills

• Physical stamina
• Communication

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Carpentry experience: Experience in carpentry work, particularly in furniture making.
