Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Structural Engineer to join our Bloemfontein office. As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the construction of various structures while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. You will play a critical role in project development and client consultations, utilizing your skills in structural analysis and design software.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering projects from initial concept to completion.
• Utilize design software like AutoCAD and SAP2000 for drafting and analysis.
• Conduct feasibility studies and develop engineering solutions.
• Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates and gather requirements.
• Conduct quality control and ensure all deliverables meet standards.
• Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on industry trends.
• Develop project documentation including reports and specifications.
• Assist in the training of junior staff and interns.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural/Civil Engineering
• Postgraduate qualification is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of structural engineering experience

• Project Management
• Geotechnical Engineering

Certifications

• Registered Structural Engineer certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Sesotho: Basic

Advantageous

• Experience in seismic design: Knowledge of principles related to earthquake-resistant structures.
• Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM): Experience in using BIM software for collaborative project work.
