Job Description

The Revenue Collector is tasked with managing outstanding debts while ensuring timely payment of invoices, contributing significantly to the financial well-being of the organization. Successful candidates will engage directly with customers, negotiating payment plans and fostering positive relations.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively monitor accounts to identify overdue payments.
  • Develop strategies to effectively negotiate payment plans with clients.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements applicable to debt collection.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions with clients regarding debts.
  • Support team members by sharing effective negotiating techniques.
  • Keep management informed about debt recovery progress and challenges.
  • Conduct financial analysis of customer accounts as needed.
  • Utilize debt collection software to track collections successes.
  • Collaborate with the legal department on particularly challenging clients.
  • Review and update processes to enhance the efficiency of the collections team.

Requirements

Education
  • Matric certificate
  • Certificate or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
Experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role with a focus on collections.
Technical Skills

Advantageous

  • Experience negotiating with high-value debtors: Prior experience dealing with high-value accounts is beneficial.
