Job Description

Join our team as an Animal Trainer Supervisor, where you will be responsible for leading our animal training initiatives. This role includes supervising staff, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare, and collaborating with various departments to enhance our public engagement activities. Candidates should have significant experience in animal training and management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate the animal training team to achieve performance goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant animal welfare legislation and ethical guidelines.
  • Modify training plans based on individual animal assessments and behavioural observations.
  • Facilitate teamwork across departments to enhance animal enrichment and experiences.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff in best practices related to animal welfare and training.
  • Liaise with veterinary staff regarding animal health and behavioural issues.
  • Oversee the management of training equipment and animal facilities.
  • Assist with budget management for training programs and departmental needs.

Requirements

Education
  • Diploma in Animal Behaviour or related discipline
Experience
  • 5 years of experience in animal training and supervision, with specific focus on exotic species.
