Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our growing team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assessing risk and evaluating insurance applications to ensure they align with our underwriting guidelines. You will play a crucial role in determining coverage amounts and premiums, while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Analyze applicants’ data and assess associated risks within established guidelines.
• Make informed decisions on insurance approvals and rejections and document rationale.
• Provide recommendations for improvements on underwriting processes based on trends.
• Work closely with agents to tailor insurance solutions for prospective clients.
• Ensure strict adherence to insurance regulations and guidelines in underwriting practices.
• Develop and maintain a solid understanding of market conditions affecting insurance risks.
• Generate reports and present findings to senior management.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in underwriting or related fields
