We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our growing team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assessing risk and evaluating insurance applications to ensure they align with our underwriting guidelines. You will play a crucial role in determining coverage amounts and premiums, while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate insurance applications and assess risks based on underwriting guidelines.
• Determine appropriate coverage and premiums for clients based on risk analysis.
• Communicate underwriting decisions to clients and agents clearly and effectively.
• Perform regular reviews of existing policies to ensure they remain in compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with claims and sales teams to understand risk profiles and client needs.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of underwriting decisions and transactions.
• Participate in training and professional development initiatives to stay current with industry trends.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in underwriting or related fields
