Animal Husbandry Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic Animal Husbandry Technician to support our livestock management efforts in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animal care and possess hands-on experience in animal husbandry practices.

Responsibilities

• Engage in the daily management of farm animals.
• Monitor and document animal growth and behavior.
• Assist with breeding cycles and record keeping.
• Ensure proper sanitation and facility management.
• Work with the farm team to develop improvement strategies for livestock productivity.
• Oversee compliance with local and national animal welfare regulations.
• Participate in educational workshops on animal husbandry.
• Assist in the preparation of reports on livestock production.
• Promote animal welfare initiatives within the community.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Animal Science or relevant qualification
• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or Animal Husbandry is preferred

Experience

• 2+ years working with livestock in a farm setting
