Process Chemist

Job Description

We are seeking a Process Chemist to join our Richards Bay team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical engineering principles and experience in process optimization. You will be responsible for developing and implementing processes that improve efficiency and product quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead process improvement initiatives within the department.
• Evaluate and validate process designs and equipment specifications.
• Assist in the training of process operators on new methods and practices.
• Monitor process performance and suggest modifications as necessary.
• Participate in multidisciplinary project teams to achieve goals.
• Communicate findings to management and stakeholders effectively.
• Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to promote innovation.

Requirements

Education

• PhD in Chemical Engineering is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in process engineering or related field

• Process Simulation Software
• Statistical Analysis

Certifications

• Six Sigma Certification
• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Quality Assurance systems: Hands-on experience with QA processes and methodologies.
• Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems: Familiarity with ISO 14001 and related standards.
