Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our growing team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing the construction of various structures. You will work closely with architects and other engineers to ensure the structural integrity and safety of our projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design projects from inception to completion.
• Conduct thorough research to ensure designs are sustainable and cost-effective.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
• Review and validate design calculations and drawings.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to clarify project objectives.
• Prepare reports and presentations for project updates and approvals.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering is preferred

Experience

• 6+ years of experience in structural engineering projects

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with Design Codes
• Building Information Modeling (BIM)

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Time Management

Certifications

• Registered Professional Engineer with ECSA
• LEED Accredited Professional

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Basic

Advantageous

• Experience in municipal infrastructure projects: Hands-on experience with projects involving municipal infrastructure developments.
• Ability to produce 3D models: Proficient in producing structural 3D models using relevant software.
