Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic Chemistry Lab Supervisor in Cape Town to lead our laboratory team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in laboratory management and a passion for educating the next generation of chemists.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily functionality of the lab and establish operational protocols.
• Provide expert guidance to staff and students during lab sessions.
• Develop lab experiments that enhance student understanding and interest in chemistry.
• Conduct safety audits and ensure all safety measures are adhered to.
• Procure and maintain necessary supplies and equipment for the lab.
• Organize professional development opportunities for lab staff.
• Collaborate with faculty to integrate innovative laboratory activities into the curriculum.
• Assess student lab work and provide constructive feedback.
• Ensure that the lab meets all accreditation requirements.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field
• Master's degree is preferred but not mandatory

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a laboratory supervisory role
